"These newer screw mounts are ridiculously dull and do not have a sharp point. You cannot begin to anchor them into a tree without first predrilling a starter hole. I now need to carry a device/tool in my pack to creat a starter hole in order to use. Most of us do not plan on leaving one in every tree stand we sit in given the $20/screw cost."
